Mike
Sirianni has become part of a family football coaching
dynasty.
Excelling as an athlete at Southwestern Central School
in Jamestown, NY, Mike earned four letters in track and
field, three letters in basketball, and two letters in
football. His athletic success continued at Mount Union
College, where Mike compiled 99 receptions for 1,746
receiving yards and 25 touchdowns, helping the Purple
Raiders to a NCAA Division III national championship in
1993. As a junior and a senior at Mount Union, Mike also
won the Ohio Athletic Conference triple jump four times,
twice indoors and twice outdoors.
After graduating from Mount Union in 1994, Mike served
as a graduate assistant football coach at Ithaca
College, while earning his master's degree in exercise
and sports management. Mike then coached wide receivers
at his alma mater for three seasons, during which the
Purple Raiders won the NCAA Division III title in 1996
and 1997. Mike next served for a year as offensive
coordinator at Wilkes University and another three years
as offense coordinator and quarterbacks coach for
Washington & Jefferson College.
In 2003, Mike took over as head coach for Washington &
Jefferson and has become one of college football's most
successful head coaches and the winningest football
coach in W&J history, leading the Presidents to the
postseason in 20 of his 23 seasons, including 13
Division III playoff appearances. Through the 2025
season, Mike's teams have compiled a .805 winning
percentage (202-49), never finishing worse than 6-4 in
any season. Under Mike, the Red & Black have won or
shared the Presidents' Athletic Conference football
title ten times, with Mike receiving PAC Coach of the
Year honors seven times, with another co-Coach of the
Year award. In 2017, Mike was named Region 2 Coach of
the Year by the American Football Coaches Association,
and, in 2021, was named South Region Coach of the Year
by D3football.com.
Mike was inducted into the Washington Greene Chapter of
the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2024. Moreover,
Mike, his father Fran, brother Nick, and brother Jay
have each been inducted into the Chautauqua Sports Hall
of Fame.
Mike has resided in Hopewell, PA, for the past 19 years.
He and his wife, Jennifer, are the parents of two
daughters: Jenna and Jordan.
